‘Anything is possible’: Ghulam Hassan Mir on formation of advisory council | KNO

Srinagar, May 26 (KNO): Amid rumors over formation of advisory council headed by Altaf Bukhari, former minister and second-in-command of Apni Party, Ghulam Hassan Mir on Monday said anything is possible. “Anything is possible. The government can do anything,” Mir told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), when asked about the rumors flying in Kashmir that Apni Party may be given a role in decision-making by the Centre. Mir, who played a key role in formation of the new party after August 5, 2019, said the Government of India is weighing several options to connect with the people in Jammu & Kashmir. “It may be an option before them,” he said. In the past two days, Kashmir Valley is abuzz with rumors that Apni Party leaders could be given an advisory role in governance before Assembly polls are held. Although Altaf Bukhari has denied rumors of him being appointed as interim Chief Minister, Mir’s refusal to rule out the possibility gives credence to such rumours in Kashmir. “It is a good joke,” Bukhari had told KNO on Sunday. After abrogation of Article 370 by the Centre, Apni Party is the lone political party which has openly engaged with the Centre and its leaders met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah in March this year—(KNO)
